Save yourself a trip with these tips before you bring your machine
in for Service and Repair
Troubleshooting
Skipped Stitches usually caused by a dull or burred needle: try
replacing it. Make sure the needle is fully inserted.
Loops on the bottom of the fabric thread may not be seated in the
tension disks. Rethread the machine, making sure the presser foot
is up.
Other stitch quality issues the bobbin may be in backwards or the
machine may be threaded incorrectly. Try rethreading both the top
thread and the bobbin.
Check List
When you bring your
machine in for servicing, please try to do the following to help
you get your machine back sooner:
Ö
Have your
bobbin case in the machine and both a zigzag foot and a zigzag
throat plate installed.
Ö
The tension can't be
balanced without your bobbin case and the zigzag stitch always
needs to be checked, too.
Ö
Bring the machine in its
case, along with its foot pedal and power cord. We have these
items for current machines but not for older models. It's a good
idea to put an address label on all of these parts.
Ö
Do not bring
accessories, unless you are having a problem related to one of
them.
Ö
If you are
experiencing a problem, bring along a sample of the fabric and
thread you are using. Sometimes, we can diagnose and correct the
problem on the spot.
